NILES, Illinois — Northridge senior Ben Hunt has announced his commitment to continue his education and baseball career at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Hunt's commitment marks the third Knights baseball player to announce their commitment to play at the college level — joining Connor Lolli '24 (Franciscan University of Steubenville) and Thomas Hunt '24 (College of St. Scholastica).
Hunt is coming off a historic junior season on the mound in which he posted a 1.64 ERA in conference play to go along with 50 K's and a .157 BAA across 34.0 IP. Hunt was selected 2nd Team All-Conference and capped the year off by being named the Independent School League Conference Pitcher of the Year.
"Ben set his mind a long time ago to make the most of his abilities, which he has specifically done on the mound," Knights head varsity baseball coach Pat Hunt said. "He is a student of the pitching craft. UW-Superior is gaining a player always open to learning and one with great upside."
The University of Wisconsin-Superior competes in the NCAA Division III Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The WIAC is widely regarded as being among the most competitive conferences at the Division III level. In conference play, the Yellowjackets compete against the likes of UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville and UW-Whitewater, among others.
