Northridge to join the Chicagoland Christian Conference in 2025-26 Academic Year

NILES, Illinois —The Northridge athletic department announced Thursday that it will become a full member of the Chicagoland Christian Conference (CCC) at the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year.

With the addition of Northridge, the Chicagoland Christian Conference's membership now stands at 10 schools, including:

  • Aurora Christian
  • Bishop McNamara
  • Chicago Christian
  • Chicago Hope Academy
  • Chicago Christ the King
  • Marian Central Catholic
  • St. Edward
  • Timothy Christian
  • Wheaton Academy

"Over the years, we've had the privilege of competing against many CCC schools in non-conference and state series matchups," Northridge athletic director Will Rey said. "Most of these experiences have been overwhelmingly positive: tightly fought games, marked by spirited competition and mutual respect. This move will help our programs with more consistently strong competition, our team's rankings going into the state tournament, and our fans - with wholesome environments and friendly rivalries."

The CCC represents six Illinois counties, which is composed entirely of faith-based institutions whose male enrollments are similar to Northridge.

Northridge has a strong history of competing against many CCC schools, particularly in state series matchups. The Knights have faced Wheaton Academy, Timothy Christian, and Christ the King in IHSA regional basketball championships in recent years. In the spring of 2024, the varsity baseball team battled Chicago Hope Academy in the IHSA sectional semifinal. Schools like St. Edward and Chicago Christian have also been regular non-conference opponents on Knights athletic schedules over the years.

Northridge departs the Independent School League (ISL), where the Knights had competed since the 2007-2008 school year.

"Since 2007, the ISL has provided our student-athletes with meaningful competition and great rivalries," Rey said. "We have a deep respect for the ISL schools and are grateful to their administrators, coaches, and student-athletes for the opportunity to compete over the last 18 years."

"We are thrilled about this change," Rey added. "Having parity of competition with values-aligned schools is always the goal, and partnering with the CCC schools will help Northridge better succeed at our mission to develop young men of character and intellect who love God. We eagerly look forward to the months and years ahead."

The conference change commences next school year. Starting with the Fall sports in 2025, the Knights will begin competing with a full conference schedule in the CCC.
