NILES, Illinois — After picking up their first regional title in program history two years ago, the Knights Baseball program are now regional champions for the second time in three seasons.

Northridge captured the IHSA Class 2A Regional Championship Friday afternoon at Clemente High School in Wicker Park with a dominant 10-0 victory over Fasman Yeshiva.

The victory came on the back of a phenomenal outing on the mound from senior Athan Maglaras, who went 5.0 IP, giving up just one hit. Will Ferrini '27 led the Knights at the plate, driving in three runs, including the game-winning run in the 5th inning to end the game by run rule.

The Knights will now enter sectional play at Chicago Hope with a 16-16 overall record, but that mark hardly tells the story of a team that has continued to battle, improve and grow throughout the spring.

After opening the season 7-1, Northridge faced one of the toughest stretches in Class 2A baseball while competing in the highly-competitive Chicagoland Christian Conference. Injuries challenged the roster for much of the season, as the Knights navigated extended absences throughout the infield and pitching staff. Despite the adversity, the team never lost belief.

Instead, the Knights found their best baseball at the most important time of the year.

Northridge closed the regular season on a three-game winning streak before carrying that momentum directly into postseason play. Throughout the season, the Knights also earned impressive victories over strong programs including Westmont and Chicago Hope.

Now, Northridge advances to the IHSA 2A Chicago Hope Sectional with momentum, confidence and another regional plaque added to the program's collection.
